At the tail end of last year, U.K businesses became aware of China’s plans to transform their manufacturing industry. With the Chinese government choosing to no longer import recyclable materials like plastic and mixed paper, businesses within the U.K will either have to find new markets to export to, or significantly reduce the amount of waste plastic produced in the product/service life cycle. The move to ban imported recyclable materials, has coincided with newly announced governmental plans in the UK. The U.K government is developing strategies to eradicate all avoidable plastic waste by 2042.
